PLEASE RTB FOR REST BREAK......How to avoid.. |
Lead | |
|
It works for me, when sent the message down your MDT to 'RTB for rest break' you are automaticall taken out of the FREDA system, therefore you will be
avoided and be able to get back to station. Wait 1 -2 minutes post message, go GREEN AWAY FROM VEHICLE, then straight away go GREEN MOBILE. This returns you
back into FREDA, giving you the opportunity to get a job and avoid break. Dont do this more than once or else you get the message 'PLEASE STOP PLAYING WITH
YOUR BUTTONS AND RTB !'
Like I said, it works for me every time. |

Ha Ha, you are not automatically taken out of the system its up to the allocator or radio op to do it manually but nice thinking. You do know that we can
change your status to what we like so, and im not just saying this to rock the boat, I wouldnt even bother trying. Whoever is on the desk, if they are
determined to show you green away they will just keep re setting it or cancelling any jobs you get sent.

What EMD123 said - Congrats EMT69 - all you've is to grass up your mates to any allocator who didn't realise what you were doing, and b. confirmed what
a large number of EOC staff already knew, and chose to ignore if the crews in question had helped us out (ie early job etc).
All you've done is given certain bods in EOC a big stick to belt you with. Well Done. Oh - and Olive Oyl wants fecking shooting, several times with a very big gun. "Nah, course I wasn't scared. Mind you, some bugger peed in my pants." D I Jack Regan

So are we saying that it is LAS policy to not send an ambulance to a 999 call when it is green and available just so it can be sent (sometimes a long way) back
to station for a break?I very much hope CAC have that in writing from the top, because Im all too aware of some very recent failures to allocate on jobs that
have gone a bit belly up including one which would be of interest to the coroner.Weve been here before havnt we with last years Edmonton betting shop fiasco.I
suggest those not sending in these circumstances dont rely on backing from anyone when awkward questions get asked.
So.Is this policy in writing or not? |

Miles - there is currently an ongoing argument between certain bods in EOC and members of the Head Shed, whereby EOC were told that certain calls could be
held to get crews back for a break (mainly of the Amber variety), and the Head Shed were asked (by two or three partic EOC persons) if we would get their
backing if it went nipples north, and someone died due to no ambs being avail, as the call was held to get crews back for break.
At time of writing, the people involved (EOC side), had received no satisfactory answer, apart from the usual management-speak bollocks. In view of that, most of us will continue to send on calls of whatever colour, if we think they need an ambulance, and WILL NOT hold them until we know we will get high-level backing. Thats exactly what you would expect from this firm.Put staff under pressure to act in a certain way then fuck them over for doing just that when theres a
problem. It will be tragic for someone who submits to this pressure and probably loses their job over it,but the sooner this all gets out in public the better.
Perhaps the best way for CAC to deal with this is to ask "Would I hold this call to prevent a crew being late off duty" If not then dont hold it to get a truck on break. |
